In Greek mythology, the Furies were ferocious godlike avengers who would swoop down on mere mortals and destroy them with relish or mustard. The only difference here is that when these fantastically talented presences swoop down on Darol Anger, the result is not destruction, but inspiration.
Darol Anger is a fiddle guru, unique in his vast range and depth, who spent three decades reinventing American string music to encompass his explorations of bluegrass, jazz, and music from around the world. The groups that he founded or co-founded include the David Grisman Quintet, the Turtle Island String Quartet, Psychograss, The Montreux Band, and the Republic of Strings ensemble. He has worked closely with musical greats such as Tony Rice, Stephane Grappelli, Dr. Billy Taylor, Bill Frisell, Jerry Douglas, Mark O’Connor, Earl Scruggs, Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Mike Marshall, Danny Barnes, Barbara Higbie, and many many more. His playing and composition overflow with passion, prodigious technique, and a generous sense of humor. He has spent his career enlightening and inspiring his fellow musicians, and vice-versa.

Emy Phelps is a remarkable vocalist and a star in the Pacific Northwest who put her career on hold to raise four kids and is now back in the game.
Jacob Ransom is a youthful master of percussion who has worked with many of the great international percussionists through the Ashland Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Terry Longshore’s famed percussion program. He took a Master’s Degree in Percussion at University of Alaska in Fairbanks, and has toured internationally. Ryan Bowers attended Berklee for two years and recently graduated from UAF in music. He is a bassist and singer-songwriter in Alaska, playing in numerous bands, including Ryan Bowers and the Brain Trust, Norris Bowers Band, Rock Bottom Stompers, and
EelHouse. He is currently finishing a CD featuring his original music, Sweet Calamity.
