Accommodations at Tonglen Lake Lodge feature both private cabins, as well as rooms in the Guest House.
Private Cabins feature modern conveniences and amenities: a king size bed, a queen futon, down comforters and Egyptian cotton sheets, in-floor bathroom heating, and a cast iron hearth. These are tucked away in the taiga spruce forest to maximize privacy and quiet. View More
Guest House Wings in the main house are ideal for larger parties. The guest house is also available as a vacation rental throughout the shoulder seasons and winter months. View More
Tonglen Lake Lodge is best suited for independent travlers, or groups, who are exploring Denali with their own vehicle. Local transportation services and car rentals are expensive, so we encourage you to rent a car from Anchorage or Fairbanks during your Alaska stay. This will offer the flexibility and variety in your itinerary to make the most of your travels.
Please note - we have a "no pet" policy at Tonglen for our property and buildings.
The Setting
Handcrafted log furniture, quilts, pottery, paintings and glass created by uniquely talented local artists accent the cabins, café, gallery and main lodge.
At the lodge's center is a two-story building that offers spectacular views of the peaks of the Alaska Range surrounding Tonglen Lake. Huge, hand-hewn logs from the Fairbanks area were artfully crafted into an impressive creation all in accordance with Donna’s design.
The main floor is gloriously open, exhibiting the beauty of the interior log work and truss design. This spacious room offers 360-degree views and is the perfect place for banquets, performances, conferences, classes or weddings.
The lower floor houses the Artisan Café and Art Gallery. Guest will enjoy their complimentary breakfast here in the morning and will be treated to appitizers in the evning. Beer and wine are also available for purchase in the evening (summer only).
