Needle Felting with Kate Wood

Saturday, June 28th from 9:00am -4:00pm

This beginning Needle Felt Class will include a brief history, all supplies needed for a small project and a little left over for your own creation.  Needle Felting may be combined with other crafts such as an adornment on a knitted hat or you could even mend your wool socks. It is a craft that can be done almost anywhere; carry a little bag of wool with your needle and any spare time your fingers will be busy.

About our instructor:

Living in Alaska for 40 years and 12 of those years in the ""Alaskan Bush" Kate calls Alaska home, "I don't know where else I would live." People laugh when she tells them she moved to town as she still lives in a cabin she walks into off the road system. Kate has always painted and done multiple crafts over the years. Intermittently working as an RN and traveled throughout the Interior (Alaska) to the Villages craft projects were the ideal companion to layovers due to uncooperative weather. Retired from nursing Kate devotes full time to painting and art projects she is a founding member of Two Street Gallery in Downtown Fairbanks, a local co-operative fine art gallery.  Four Scottish Terriers, K-9 agility and tracking have replaced a multitude of sled dogs and twenty plus years of mushing.
